Travel has always been a big deal at AT®, we talk about it all the time, from the planning of  trips to Death Valley, Moab, and Baja, to the reminiscing about the adventures  we have been on. So it seemed like a natural extension of our Trailer and Expedition equipment business to offer Adventure Travel.

Safari Rangers is a tour company based out of Johannesburg, South Africa. They specialize in small groups and 4X4 enthusiasts with safaris in South Africa, Namibia, Mozambique and Botswana. Many of their trips are unique fly-drive safaris, where you drive one of their fully equipped Land Rovers, Toyotas, or Nissans as part of a group escorted by a guide.

The guides are Professional Game Rangers with some holding level 3 and SKS DA (Dangerous Animals) qualifications, which are currently recognized as the highest qualifications in the safari industry throughout Africa.

Safari Rangers organizes custom safaris for small groups, and larger groups anywhere in Southern Africa.  They can arrange 4X4 vehicles, planes, trains, and automobiles to fit your needs.

Adventure Expeditions

OneLife Adventure, www.onelifeadventure.co.uk are specialists in vehicle dependent Adventures and Expeditions based out of the UK. Traveling with OneLife Adventure you drive your own vehicle and are fully supported by their well prepared expedition vehicles and an experienced support team.

OneLife’s itinerary for 2007 includes, Libya, Morocco, Pyrenees, Iceland, Romania, and a Sahara Circumnavigation through Libya, Niger, and Algeria.

Vehicles need underbody protection, a CB radio for communication within the group, your vehicle should be recently serviced and in good mechanical condition. Other items you may consider fitting are;

• Snorkel - advisable for engine protection against dust and water
• Recovery equipment - straps and recovery points to a winch for self recovery
• Fridge - well, no one said traveling should be hard!
• Storage system - a boxed system is normally adequate.
• GPS - always useful for logging your track

Western Adventures

Frenchie La Chance runs Western Adventures http://www.4westernadventures.com out of the San Diego (Ramona) area. Frenchie is a legend  in the 4X4 and guiding world in the USA, and he runs trips to California, Arizona, Utah, Colorado, Baja, and Mexico throughout the year.

Clients drive their own 4X4 vehicles, and may attend one of Frenchie’s driving schools before you head out on a trip. Western Adventures has conducted guided adventures to the Canyons of Copper Canyon and the “4X4 Baja and Kayaking with Whales” in the past, they always have a full schedule of up coming trips.
