We'd like to be able to share with you, in video format, some of the information AT provides at their Tire Repair Clinics. The clinics provided the participants the opportunity to get hands on experience with the tools and equipment, as well as learning about tire construction.

We'll teach you how to do a full field repair including; removing the tire from the rim, perform the repair, and re-mounting it to the rim. We'll also cover plugging a simple puncture.

Preparation: We consider preparation to be the most important part of the learning process. The information will allow you to become more familiar with the tools before you need them in the field.

You'll need the right tools and practice. Work with the tools in you back yard before you head out on the trail. Get an old tire and rim from your local tire repair shop and we'll walk you through the process.

Safety: Working around tires and vehicles can be dangerous. Take precautions, wear safety glasses and gloves. If in doubt leave it to the professionals.

All of the repairs are emergency repairs to get you back to civilization. As soon as possible have all repairs checked out by a tire repair shop.

If in doubt about anything contained in the videos call or e-mail us with questions.

WEB CLINICS:

This online clinic is divided into two parts:
1. Major tire repair, requiring the bead to be broken
2. Minor tire repair, plugging tread and sidewall punctures, not requiring the bead to be broken.

None of these repairs should be considered permanent. All repairs are for temporary field repair only. We recommend that all tires repaired in the field be taken to your local tire repair shop for evaluation and repair.
