USED CAMPERS – GENERAL FIT GUIDE
Four Wheel Campers built from 1990 or Newer should fit:
Most Chevy Trucks (Up Until 2007 Models): The newer body style Chevy & GMC trucks have a narrower tail gate opening than other trucks. Please call us for details if you have a late 2007 – 2012 Chevy / GMC and are looking for fit guidance on used FWC campers.
Most Dodge Trucks (except 1994): For the 1994 Dodge Ram Trucks follow the Tundra fit application: (due to the narrow tail gate opening)
Most Ford F-150 Trucks: On the 04′ – 13′ F-150 a small 2″ platform will be needed because these trucks have a deeper truck bed.
Most Ford F-250 / F-350 Trucks up until 1998 (if you have a 1999-2013 Ford F-250 / F-350 you will have to build a platform for the used campers to sit on. (those trucks have a taller cab height)
Four Wheel Campers built before 1990 will Only fit:
Chevy Trucks built in 1988 or older
Dodge Trucks built in 1993 or older
Ford F-150 Trucks built in 1996 or older
Ford F-250 / F-350 Trucks built in 1998 or older
There have been a few different Four Wheel Camper Models made over the years that are not in production anymore. So if you are looking at an older camper for sale somewhere and have camper / truck fit questions, just give us a call, we will be glad to help out the best we can — (example: Fleet Model, Ranger II Model, Older Keystone Model, Blazer, Bronco, Scout, etc.).
Ford F-250 / F-350 Trucks built from 1999-2013 require a special build on the camper. The cab height is 3 taller than any other truck on the market.
The 2007 – 2013 Toyota Tundra trucks and the 2004 – 2013 Ford F-150 trucks have a deeper truck bed. So if you find a used camper for one of these trucks, you will most likely have to add a 2″ platform under the camper for the proper fit.
Toyota T-100 & Tundra Trucks will only fit the newer style full-size Four Wheel Campers. We narrowed the base on the Hawk & Grandby in the middle of 2001 especially for the T-100 and Tundra owners. If you have a T-100 or Tundra and are looking at used campers, take some careful measurements of the camper and your truck bed before you buy. The Older Hawk & Grandby Models unfortunately will not fit. The tailgate opening on the Toyota is usually the biggest factor. The older campers are 60″ or 64″ wide where the camper will be sitting in the tail gate opening. The newer campers are 58″ wide in the tail gate opening area (specifically to fit the T-100 & Tundra Trucks).
Also Note Many trucks that do not have the normal Fleetside truck bed design could have a fit issue with our campers. Please ask us about the Shell Models we make custom to fit the Step-Side, Style-Side, Flair-Side, & Sport-Side trucks.
** Please Note this list is only designed to help assist you in your research about Four Wheel Campers. Model sizes, camper widths, and designs have changed over the years and continue to change a little each year. Truck beds have changed quite a bit as well (different tail gate opening sizes, different lengths, and different bed depths). Four Wheel Campers are always changing to the adapt to the current truck trends. The charts below reflect what the “New” Four Wheel Campers will fit. Older Four Wheel Campers were typically wider and might not fit your newer truck!! At the bottom of this page is also a general fit guide for you to review. It might save you some time and headaches if you are looking at buying a “used” Four Wheel Camper. We are not responsible for the accuracy of this list below. The Four Wheel Pop-up Campers have been built in so many different sizes & shapes over the years we can only help you the best we can.
We will always ensure the correct camper fit when we are building a new camper for you. But, we cannot be responsible for the older used campers for sale by private party. There have been too many camper and truck changes over the years.
Please call or e-mail if you have any questions. We have not completely updated this list yet for all of the 2013 trucks. There are a few important changes to be aware of on a couple of the newest trucks. We have camper models available for most all of the newest trucks these days. If you don’t see your truck on the list below, just call or e-mail us. We probably have a camper that will work great for it !
